Numerical study of detonation wave propagation modes in annular channels

چکیده

Modes of detonation wave propagation in annular channels were investigated numerically by using the adaptive mesh refinement technique. Two-dimensional, reactive Euler equations with a detailed hydrogen/oxygen reaction model adopted computations to simulate dynamics geometry. Considering both decoupling front and development Mach-stem reflection, is divided into unstable stable modes different evolutions, namely, growing, steady, or decaying type. The numerical observations indicate that mode, velocity loss oscillation occur near inner wall, while shape evolution are steadier for mode. overdriven degree outer wall increases as strength attenuates. mode diagrams demonstrate an increase initial pressure curvature radius can extend range transformed from growing finally type decrease channel width ratio. limit separating independent steady types, they positively correlated Finally, qualitative procedure proposed help distinguish based on formation mechanism each dynamics.

Numerical Simulation to Investigate the Effect of Obstacle on Detonation Wave Propagation in a Pulse Detonation Engine Combustor

Pulse detonation technology can be a revolutionary approach for propulsion system since it offers significant fuel efficiency, higher thrust to weight ratio and low cost. Although the design concept of a pulse detonation engine is comparatively simple, but the development and stabilization of sustainable detonation wave front is difficult. Consequently pulse detonation engine technology is stil...

Planar Detonation Wave Initiation in Large-Aspect-Ratio Channels

P LANAR detonation waves are often created in narrow rectangular channels to more easily visualize the cellular structure of gaseous detonation waves [1–6]. Typically, these detonation waves are initiated from a single high-energy source requiring several kilojoules of input energy, such as a strong spark or exploding wire that creates a spherically or cylindrically expanding wave. This wave is...

Numerical simulation of flood wave propagation due to failure of dam watersheds in fluent model

By numerical simulation of the phenomenon of failure of dams and the flow of their flow, it is possible to design more precisely the structures and their location. The purpose of this study was to investigate the wave propagation phenomenon due to the failure of the rocky mortar-watering dam in the Marivan sub-basin of Zarivar in two-dimensional and three-dimensional models using the Fluent mod...

Links between Detonation Wave Propagation and Reactive Flow Models

The WBL model for detonation wave propagation was extended to allow more general initiation in the context of level set methods. Initiation could then be induced fairly seamlessly from reactive flow simulations. The accuracy of WBL detonation compared favourably with results from full reactive flow, and proved surprisingly robust with respect to changes in numerical parameters used to trigger W...
